Survival Guide to The Makeup Show Dallas 2015

Attending The Makeup Show can be an overwhelming experience for a first timer.

So with the help of many of my MUA friends we have come up with suggestions to make this a memorable event.

What To Wear..
No you don’t have to wear all black, have fun.
TMS is not the place for those cute killer 4 inch heels. image
Comfort is the name of the game so break out your fanciest tennies.
Remember you’re going to be doing a lot of walkingwear shoes that are going to be comfortableso you don’t miss a moment.
Last  year I saw so many young girls show up wearing the cutest heels,
but had to leave early hobbling out holding their shoes in their hands.
Don’t be that girl.

imageProducts For Your Kit

Your going to find the most popular products in the industry , and all the new must haves every professional artist needs for their kit. Here is the key to making sure you stay in your budget and better yet know how to budget.  Go to the vender section and make a list in advance of the booths you most want to check out. Go to their web sites check out products and make a list of what you really need  have a plan of attack

You’re going to have lots of small packages and bags so it’s sometimes a good idea to take one backpack or a large bag to put them into. Be mindful of the fact the last 30 minutes of the show on Sunday if you leave for any reason even bathroom they won’t let you come back in.  Don’t wait until the very last minute because you may miss that purchase that you really wanted.

Spend your first few hours going to education talks  and testing everything at every booth.  Watch and ask questions, talk to others,  ask their opinion.

Or you can do what Matt Frends of Frends Beauty suggests and sell out his booth first, and then he will carry all you packages, part the crowds, and be your cabana boy all day.
